Yep, at least on other versions. No idea why I have the samurai unlocked when I don't even have a female warrior.
When I was unlocking classes on the PSP, I found some of the requirements to be inverted compared to what guides were telling me. I'm guessing the same thing happened to the PC version. It'd be easy to miss, as often players unlock all the classes at about the same time anyways...
Though to be fair, regional differences could've muddied the waters. Either way, there's more to the situation than what they've got documented.
Has all the info you should need.
AS others have said some of the classes require you to have all the prerequisits at the same time and other just that you've had them. Usually better to shoot to have them at the same time.
So it's more than likely that there were other balance changes regarding unlocking classes.
