so if you create the final warrior as genius for example he will be much stronger heheh funny isnt it?? so laharl is only a starting character overall. with overpowered skills as blazing knucle and meteor impact =P!
When you make a character, there is RNG in what their Level 1 stats will be, based off their Base Stats. Lv1 stats can be higher or lower, and by several points, for every single stat.
Male Warrior Base Stats: 14/6/11/8/8/11/11/8
Laharl Base Stats: 17/8/12/8/9/11/12/9
Laharl has 3 more base HP, 2 more base SP, 1 more base ATK, INT, HIT, and RES.
If I remember correctly, all characters given to you pre-made by the game, like Laharl and the Prinnies, have +3 to HP as their stat handout. This is also the case for all other Disgaea games, and I believe other NIS games with this system.
And that's putting aside that he's not a warrior, so comparing him to one isn't the right way to go about this.
I'm seeing Laharl's base stats (when transmigrating, sans any bonus points he's gained and before the RNG is applied) as:
Starting multiple new games, I'm seeing his initial stats as:
So there he's rolling an average of 83.5 points, or a "bonus" of -3.5 points. I'm leaning towards good-for-nothing, or perhaps a straight penalty which isn't exactly tied to any particular capability level.
Laharl is not a Warrior. He's a Demon Prince. Warriors have 77 base points, Laharl has 87. That's a ten point difference even before you start considering "capability" levels.
Though Laharl does get to change class later, just once; I'm not sure if that changes his base stats or not.
In that chart of numbers I posted, only one of those numbers ever went higher than his base stats - right up the top left corner where he got 19 HP. Every other stat either came out at the base level or lower.
Never did his total points go above his base points. Only once did they match; every other time they were lower.
This makes it very, very unlikely that he's getting the one point bonus he should have if he were "incompetent".
I think Laharl starts better than good-for-nothing, but worse than incompetent. It's closer to good-for-nothing, anyway.
Either way it's not genius!
