Now, this one is the DS version, and doesn't has all the QoL features added to newer disgaeas. It has some of them and you can even get characters from Disgaea 2. Is slower and you can tell the older design philosophy, but it is still a very solid entry point to the series as it already has all that made the series known.
Up to you. As you don't know the differences added between DIsgaea 1 to 6 you will not miss them if you play this one fist.
The store page says it "Includes all content from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness" (the PSP version), though in truth it's missing the multiplayer.
It did eventually get some of the DS stuff patched in (such as a playable Zetta), although unfortunately this didn't include the Prinny commentary. Also it added another crash bug. Better to run NCP on an older game version, really.
Heckuva a good deal now too.
