If you've read all her diary entries then you're good to go.

You can switch between the two modes at the end of each cycle as many times as you like.

ok, btw i am leveling a ninja atm and to my big surprise he dodges friendly heal spells, would it make sense to give my priests more HIT stats or is that to big of an investment just to heal that one ninja?

The Ninja's dodge is a special ability, so you can't stat around it. It's not supposed to work on heals, but turning Ally Effects (animations) off changes that for some reason.

Best just to let him learn his own healing spells. You'll find dedicated cleric units aren't able to keep up with him in the field anyway.

If you go in without finishing the main game first, sure. Otherwise it's more like around level 65, which you should certainly be able to handle if you took down Lamington.

well i finished etna mode not long ago and i can say, you are never ready. Now depend of what you want to do so here comes my opinion.

This game post game is very centered in item world, yup you can follow the guides for easy level up but i think that will get boring too fast, but well on topic if its centered in item world then what about etna mode .. that is not post game, well sadly not really. You can get lahard and well your current team to level 300 with good equips or at least 2 reincarnations for your team ( that means generic+etna) and rush etna mode for get back to lahard mode and well do post game.
But lets say that you decide go now, well again is possible cause item world you only will training all chars except lahard and other story chars (except floone) so when you get back to lahard part for do post game you will be again be overpowered with all team except lahard that is too weak now.

So yup if you think on time wise the first option is clear better, but for me is just well go there to etna mode if you are weak go to item world and train. Btw unless you pass the level increase any new game + will keep the same level of mobs so you can always rush the story but... lahard story takes 3 hours to finish even in killing in 1 hit (cause you need to move) and not seeing story... i wanted see it again so took me 8 hours (yup all story) so well again depend of what you want.

PD: nope i dont regret not do the powerleving or do etna after finish normal mode with a weak team. I dont mind play this more hours XD
PD2: if you are talking aboout what you lose.. well time you always lose time, if you do not want lose time do all post game with lahar and after finish baal without well lahar but only etna and a generic team you can finish game and go to etna mode, now for what reason do that... well basicly get etna mode 2 endings and i think you must already got lahard 8 endings... i think. If you dont care about endings at all well at level 300 you can rush etna mode i think and go back to lahard save. Again each time you go to etna mode you have to go to lahard, and well nope you dont have to do anything on lahard but if you want use some chars as jenifer you need go up in the story.

i tried with ally effects on and off, he still dodges the heals, the only one who can reliably heal him is laharl but he is like 50 levels above the ninja and getting the ninja his own heal skills sounds not so inviting, that means i need make the ninja have a pupil priets who needs a pupil star mage to grindy!

i really liked the idea of having the ninja dodge alot but i think i opt for the ronin now. unless there is something like a mod like a community patch?

edit: i googled to find a solution and apparently ninjas dodge their own spells too so.........

Turning ally effects on/off does nothing. He can dodge heals either way.

Ah, that is right. That's me confusing the PC version with the PSP version, where the bug isn't in constant effect.
