i just bought this game yesterday and i absolutely love it! i hear there is an anime as well! do they have an english dub of it on youtube? Laharl is my favourite character and i love his evil laugh! I wonder do we ever hear Laharl snoring in his sleep?

that's ok. where else can i stream it? do you know the big disappointment though? the soundtrack isn't on spotify! unless they have it under the kanji name. they do that with some soundtracks on there. because i would love to have Laharl's hymn and welcome to the overlord's castle and etna boogie and all the others in a playlist!

I bought it on sell cause I heard it was good... Its not that fun imo, don't like the setting or gameplay. I loved front mission3, final fantasy tactics, shining force etc. But I feel like I'm pushing myself along in this, does it get fun at all?

well the battles do get tough so my advice to you is level up, and do lots of it! the best place to level up is searing tyranny in sea of gehenna! the music is also amazing! especially etna boogie! i cant stop singing it! and battle of eight beat is cool too! and also beautiful round dance! but if you get bored with it, just move onto disgaea 2. someone on youtube said they gave up on the final boss (seraph lamington) as he was too hard for that person to beat. or you can just snuggle up on your sofa or bed and watch 4 hours and 15 minutes of disgaea hour of darkness's cutscenes! the true ending is in there too! watch maybe 20 minutes or so of the video each day! it only covers cutscenes, no gameplay! i personally like it because the demons remind me of my favourite anime, inuyasha! i don't know if inuyasha is a copy of disgaea because the titular character, inuyasha, is a half-demon like laharl (and both their parents died). and i like a bit of a challenge, and when it gets hard, level up! isn't that what nearly everyone recommends anyone who plays RPGs to do? oh, and i used to play tactics games a long time ago (luminous arc 1 and 2 on the DS, and ragnarok tactics on PSP, so i am pretty used to tactical RPGs!

I wanna like the game that's why I bought it, cause I also like tile rpgs. I'm probably just not far enough along. Really was a huge fan of FFtactics, I really wish they'd bring it to steam, even tho I completed it on psx.

i love disgaea so much (despite the amount of grinding i have to do, although i'm used to grinding now!) that i sent an email to NISA to find out where i can download the other Disgaea games and Prinny 1 and 2 for PC for free! because i had a look at the cutscenes for Disgaea D2 and the game looked sooo good! i even commented on youtube to say that i hope it comes on steam someday in the next couple of months!

Yea I can understand I felt the same way for FFtactics and shining force, I think it looks like a cool game maybe I just need to hunker down and actually invest in it a bit but there's so many distractions in gaming.

The one thing Disgaea has going for it is it's charming story. If it didn't it would be a grinding simulator and I would lose my mind. Thank the Overlord for it's colorful cast of characters and over-the-top plot. The gameplay is actually sort of fun but after a bit of grinding you can feel yourself slipping into repetition....
