Umm i know she's supossed to be a secret character, but she was added to the pc port right at the begining of the game. She's really OP... i feel like im cheating and i dont like to play this way. can i delete her somehow? this is a deal breaker for me.
what if i dont call her into battle? can i still lose without her being killed?

You lose when 10 of your characters (or all of them if you have less than 10) die. So yes, you can lose without her dying.

And you can just not use her. I sure don't. her or the 3 Prinnies you get from the first tutorial they never get any use fro me.

I guess i wont use her. Its an unfair advantage to have a secret character "for free", if you know what i mean. but i'll have to fight the temptation... pure hell

the only op part is that she starts with a gun you'd normally get around chapter 3

she falls of really hard really fast

If you aren't too far into the game, you could install the NCP mod from this thread and start over. Among other additions, it makes Pleinair an NG+ exclusive character, which seems to be exactly what you want.

You sure she's in at the start of a 1st cycle? Been ages since I started so I can't remember.

And yeah, she's not OP at all. Unless she is right at the start of a 1st cycle I suppose.

She gets added to your team as soon theat cutscene where Etna wakes up Laharl is done. And yes, even on first cycle. She's not especially more powerful than any other "story character" but she is a lot more powerful than a tier 1 generic and comes with a really powerful weapon for the very start of the game. And you get her absolute free.

Something I did notice starting a 4th cycle recently after not playing for over a year, was that when it added in Pleinair, she was wearing a monster weapon!

I mean, it was obvious she didn't equip monster weapons because she had stats showing for the weapon types. And sure enough when I removed the weapon it wouldn't let me put it back on her lol.

I only popped my head into this topic because on this current run through of the normal story just for old times sake, I've been using her for the first time just to level something else up.

There's a (rare?) bug where a character's equipment is replaced with what looks like random equipment in a new cycle. I've had it happen with Flonne, and heard of other characters that were struck by it.

Uhm, what?! She's added on a 2nd playthrough. Which means you have to have gotten an ending already, which I think can include Game Over, provided you then start a new game instead of reloading your save. There's a few endings that can be gotten fairly early as well.

No, she joins you no matter what even on a first cycle. I just started a new game yesterday (note, new game, not loading after getting an ending) and she got added to my team as soon as I got out of Laharl's room.

Note, did you PLAY ANY OTHER save files for this game? Not just New Game+, but any other save file where you saw an ending, up to and including a Game Over screen after a party wipe? If so then congrats, you've unlocked the character.

On your 1st playthrough ever she's not unlocked.

Get a party wipe and decide to start from scratch? Congrats, you're on your second playthrough so the character is unlocked.

Did you royally screw up and get a Bad Ending in chapter 3 or so? Then congrats, you've unlocked the character even if you start a new save file. It's not your save file's "times played", it's your personal "times played".

I bought the game for the first time, launched, got out of the first room and she was unlocked

No I haven't gotten a game over or hit any of the endings. Even the Mid Boss ones.

They must have changed that then, because when I bought this at release she joined on your second play through, regardless of if it was New Game+ or "I'm restarting cause I got a game over".

At release she wasn't in the PC version at all (I mean outside of being the NPC you talk to for the dark assembly) they patched it a few month after.
