Disgaea games (and some other NIS franchise games) are set up in parallel dimensions. Each one even having their own tag (which seems to be known to some overlords, calling their dimensions by some number/code/etc.)
There are even issues with language between dimensions, so ofc. they will have different words for specialists/innocents, etc...
