Back when I played it I didn't know a thing about the Turok series itself and still found the game incredibly boring. The knife kills are fun to watch at the beginning, but after the 27th killcam it just gets boring.
It was a lot worse if you knew stuff about Turok before hand believe me. The game literally had nothing to do with Turok aside from the character being called "Turok" which is a title not a name.
The knife was pretty op against dinosaurs in that game. Why bother shooting when you can just press 1 button at the right time or angle. Still it was nice to see dinosaurs in a game again.
Yeah the timespan between the early 2000s and 2010s didn't have a whole lot of dino games in it now did it? I'm glad that the successful resurrection of the Jurassic Park franchise is slowly raising interest in dinosaur gaming again. :D
That game had a different publisher and developer, so legally it has almost nothing (if anything at all) to do with the original games. Besides, it's not that good of a game either, so it's kind of not worth the time and effort to be put on Steam. :P
Point is, its a game, and its a fine one that stands on its own. It had an acceptable PC port but has never been released digitally. If they own the IP, it should not be too hard to perhaps fix up any bugs if they get the source, and then release it, or even just release it as it is.
Disney is the ones who owned it last to my knowledge, so it may never happen. Do not quote me on this, but I believe there is separate copyrights + IPs for Turok 2008 vs Acclaim Turok.
It would be an excellent addition to the slow but surely growing Turok family on Steam. Regardless I'll just buy a boxed copy sometime if I really want it.
I play it and very like it!
A total remake of any Turok-game (in UE4) would be awesome !
Is not be Turok 2008 Steam.
Is bad game.
