Finished level 2 and 3, and oops, can't progress because I need more keys.
Kept replaying level 2 like three times and still couldn't find the last key. How absurd to hide mandatory progress in secrets.
In the meantime the game discourages you from exploring, since enemies keep spawning and draining your ammo unless you're playing on the easier difficulties where enemies actually drop ammo.
Yeah I uninstalled this really quickly. Just really ass backwards design.
Hope the later games don't suffer from the same thing. I love exploring and hunting around secrets, but making them mandatory is simply bad, especially when combined with the spawning enemies and the limited lives system.
Literally most of my deaths were from either running out of ammo or making a mistake during a platforming section because I became impatient for having to re-do that platforming section the 50th time because I had to replay the level over and over to find the darn key.
Literally none of them.
And if you really hate respawning enemies, you can use a mod like this to disable them, or this to customize them and/or ammo drops.
