[Minimal Spoilers] About Louey.
Let's all be honest about this lovely character that clearly was the most innocent thing in the whole game.

Louey.

Yes, that little mascot that always tried to help you, both by (obvious) tips, taking you of broken maps, trying to keep the game in balance, and of course
Being your first friend in the game.

The Hopeless Soul was just your partner from the thousands of souls like you, so not a very huge connection between Soul and you.

Louey, in the other hand, showed humor, care, conversations, etc.

Now, the real thing starts on the last level you see him.

Did you really want to kill Louey?

I felt so bad about myself about killing that little beautiful bastard that I played the level again to not kill him and just trying to attack the butterfly, but it was pointless.

What's your opinion? Would you like to see a better inclusion of Louey in the story? I do.

Wasn't Louey made by Lucifer? So it would be similar to Gale in Breaking Bad: Brought in by the bad side and a friendly assistant of the protagonist. Both had to die to not "fail/die".
He could be an empty puppet controlled by Lucifer...

Sorry, but I kind of really wanted to kill him.

Yeah... No... Louie kinda creeped me out and it was clear he wanted to keep me distracted enough so I would lower my guard and give up my soul, I blasted him as soon as I got the chance

Yes and no.
In the part where you are forcing the creation of still in development features for the upgraded game Lucifer was working on, it's possible that a demonic similar emotion wasn't still added to Louey.

I mean, maybe he could have done something bad, however, he didn't know anything about Lucifer's plans.

He only knew that he was designed to help the player through levels.

I have to admit, :torielsad: I feel sad that you gotta kill him in Act 3 too :(. He was the most lovely character in the game that I bonded with. I loved those moments in Act 3 where I saw him, happy as ever, as he helps me/the player through Act 3. Heck, I even tried for 5 minutes to not shoot him, but nothing happens, which means you gotta kill him :( Don't get me started when I see him mangled in the final fight or just if you replay the game at Act 3, and he appears mangled for the first screen. It makes me feel even more sad and guilty for killing him even though I tried not to kill him.

It would be amazing if the creator would make it possible to not kill Louey :(
