Best app/software for pixel art?
Was just wondering what you think is the best app/software to use for creating pixel art for your projects or just in general. Would prefer free but I am willing to spend a little bit of money.

... and it's made with Godot!

Play with all of them, and figure out which one(s) do what you need and have a workflow you can manage. Even MSPaint can do a "good enough" job; for example, that's what Risk of Rain used.

free is probably a better option i personally went with Aseprite here on steam, its pretty good, lots of tools easy to make tile maps and sprite sheets all that fun stuff and easy exporting.

Edit: i also sent you a Friend Request :)

ProMotion NG. Shovel Knight was done with this program. WayForward, Halfbrick and several other pixel art game companies are using it to create the art. The workflow may seem weird at first and you certainly need to watch some tutorials to get the most of it (especially with shade/multishade modes), but once you get it you realize it's much faster to do it the ProMotion way rather than draw each pixel manually. There's even a setting that takes care of antialiasing for you, if you want it in your art, as well as automatic dithering and pen pressure support for graphic tablets.

It's also on Steam and it's relatively cheap. Will put the link in a second.

Honestly games that were made using the software should be secondary to if the workflow well works for you.

but i recommend Aseprite. got that one because the tutorials i found were decently paced and doesn't look annoying to deal with as im not really an artist.

pixilart.com is my go-to for stuff like that, it also has a downloadable version of itself. So yeah.
