Hahah funny there was just asking a question about the difference between this and Scratch. No really though I have used scratch once for a class project using the Raspberry Pi I had to use it to show my teacher on how to make a script and how it could benefit a business for advertising. You know this is why I do not support people like you! Since I only played with Scratch on the Raspberry Pi but since you want to call people trolls guess that shows your mentality. Also learn what this ? means it is called a question mark mean it is a question something I see people forgot to understand.

Well, asking such a broad question that you could answer yourself by googling "Godot engine" or looking at the Steam store page is not really respectful of the time of the users of this forum. This is not Siri or OK Google, it's a forum for discussions about Godot engine. We can't start answering in depths all questions about "what is the difference?" (you did not even mention Scratch in the thread title).

As a Scratch user, you very well know that Scratch is not a game engine but an educative tool to make simple games with visual elements, and learn some algorithmic principles this way. My 6 year old nephew uses Scratch to make games. Godot on the other hand is a professional tool for the gaming industry, enabling indie developers, hobbyists and also (there's no reason not to) AAA developers to make the kind of games you can buy on this very Steam platform. You won't find many Scratch games on Steam.

And all this is super obvious if you visit https://scratch.mit.edu and https://godotengine.org, which you should obviously do before asking such questions on a forum, that's basic netiquette.

Note that I did not mean by any way to diminish Scratch's merit, it's a great tool for its purpose. But it has nothing to do with Godot or any other professional grade game engine.

So this is what "netiquette" is http://www.albion.com/netiquette/corerules.html and since I have seen how others are talked to on these forums I will stay away. Would not want someone cussing at me for saying something. Remember the 9th rule is to never abuse your powers!

Google next time. If you put "Unity" and "Godot" I could accept it, but with scratch its a joke of a comparison and hard to take it serious. Abuse of powers would be if he just ban you or something.

I think you are overreacting. Godot community is one of the friendliest I've been in. You asked a very broad question AND the answer is trivial to google. It's like asking what's the difference between MS Paint and Gimp. If you aren't able to google it on your own, maybe you should really stay away. But you may be surprised that almost every community don't like these types of questions.
You are such a Twit, overacting at a Person who Works on this because He/She Accidentally called you a Troll...

I think that is a really good analogy. If someone were to approach the GIMP dev team and ask them how it was supposed to differ from MS Paint, I would not be the slightest bit surprised if they assumed the person was taking the, well, yeah.

While we are at it though, does anyone care to tell me what the difference is between the Libre Office word processor/ Microsoft Office Word and Notepad? Both of them clearly write text after all, and I have used Notepad since I was but a wee child. :steamhappy:
