Devs said like 8 hours or something, probably more if you stop and enjoy the artwork. You can speed run it in like 13 minutes though if you're into that kind of thing.
so whats your point?
8 hours is okay for this, it's not an rpg after all but then again.. Bastion and Transistor are rpg's that are only around 7-8 hours and they were just as in-depth as a 200 hour rpg.
I play multiplayer games that cost 20-60$ for hundreds of hours
in some cases free games for similar amounts
nothing wrong with waiting for a single player game to be cheaper if you can only get 8-12 hours out of it.
BTW: movies are a terrible value and everyone knows that
STOP
i just wanted to know how long it was
thats it
look at the discussion topic
then everyone started talking about the money
but my point is that theyve compared this to the zelda franchise, and have implyed
a certain depth of story
if what we get is an open land where you wander about puzzle style and rocket punch
a few creatuers and thats it, then it has little monetary value as a game
and reguardless (if it is a good game)
theyll make more money off it if they market it as a short game
for a small price
alot of people go "oh that sounds neat, only 8$, ill buy it"
and when they finnish it same day, they dont feel as ripped off as if they spent 20+
remember that as much as you might not wana admit it
no one likes to pay AAA price for a game, then beat it same day
even if it was "fun for the moment"
case point, WH40k:SM 60$ for a 2hr campaign and a battle arena
but was marketed as "immersive" hack and slash and from a franchise
that frequently has large battles and 10 or so levels/chapters
Subjective statement is subjective and also a little ignorant of the gameplay footage we've seen. It should be more than obvious to anyone who's observant that there's a story element to this. It's been compared to games like Shadow of the Colossus which if you'd played you'd know that while it isn't a very long game the story is an emotionally memorable one. It's why it's still talked about all these years later and is getting a remake. Just because something has a short playtime doesn't mean it's not going to provide a satisfactory gaming experience.
If that's not your thing that's fine but it's ridiculous to judge the game as being worthless just based upon its projected play length. You haven't played it for one so it's more than a little unfair to judge its worth but more importantly its 'value' is entirely subjective. You're making a definitive statement about something that is only applicable to you. Just because you think it's worthless doesn't mean others have to or will feel that way.
I also think it's pretty rude to come into a developers forum and call their game worthless but that's just my own personal perspective.
but in the end it really amounts to grinding out your 'mon collection
i didnt mean to infer that the game is "worthless"
but more that, theyll get alot more from it, if they promote the game along different lines
something like "short but memorable" (but use better phrasing)
having a lower starting price makes it more appealing to people who might not be
"in the market" for a new game, but still has a few extra bucks wearing holes in thier pocket
ill admit, i dont follow the game on social media or the official website, where ever thier actually
promoting and giving news-updates,
last advert ive seen was in gamestops, game informer mag quite a long time ago
so i havent seen any gameplay footage (i dont count trailers)
but i feel from what ive read, that i wasnt wrongly expecting more game time
ive played very short games before (to the moon) and was thoroughly pleased
but i feel that even a satisfactory experiance most likely
wont smooth over the pain of paying 20$ for most people
(excepting kids who have parents that buy most of thier things for them)
so, on the contrary, im not dis'n on the devs/publisher
im just trying to net them a few more bucks, so the next project can be even better
If you mean REREADING... well.. replaying a game is also a thing..
