Are you sure the Barracks chest is 90; that one doesnt stand out as one I left unopened. You can return to most islands if not all later in the game. I left Tacarigua with a couple chest unopened vowing to return to open them. Now I doubt I will as the locked chests fail to reward anything super. And so far it appears the game can be completed without opening any of the locked chests.
I was mistaken about the barracks chest, confusing it with one of Booze's chests.
Don't you need all of Largo's clothes to complete the quest, including the bandana? Do the bonuses to attributes stack; if so, I probably won't return Largo's clothes anyway.
But worst of all, I DO have the boots and they don't appear to do any good. I picked up "A Worn Pair of Boots" on the floor of the barracks, and the quest text indicates that these are the correct boots. But when I talk to Stone, the game never gives me the option to show him the boots. Instead, my only option is to claim that I talked to Largo, which Stone refuses to believe. So far as I can tell, the quest to free Largo is bugged in multiple ways, making it impossible (at least in my current game) to complete.
