How to beat spiders and Jaguars... oh and the ghoul

Any hints, I got lucky beating one jaguar, but I can't get close to defeating the spider in the tunnel (does t have decent loot?) and jaguar that is near the start of the game. I have cleared 90% of island and am ready to leave. Unfortuantely I clicked on the pirate captain so I don't even have patty to back me up.

As for the ghoul in the temple at the bottom of the raveen...

Or can I Should I come back when I am more skilled.

Spiders will always be deadly in this game. Unless you have ranged weapons, it's going to be semi tough to beat it without Patty around - Or just stuck up on some grog =)

I am pretty sure I left the island, leveled up some more and then went back to beat the spider. Or I beat him near the end of leaving the island the first time.

I had many tries and failures with the spider, until I finally decided to level up, and then beat him.

If I remember correctly, the loot isn't even that great. Like 500 gold coins or something. The tunnel is just a shortcut to where ever it leads. I think there is another treasure chest once you get out of the tunnel on the ridge.

Sorry I can't be of more help the last time I played this was like 5 months ago.

Oh, the ghoul I am pretty sure I left the island and then came back to it later. I actually think it is more than 1 ghoul like 3 of them.

If you have a bomb on you, you might want to try that against the spider--not sure if it will work.
