What a bummer
Game was alright and I was enjoying myself...up until I faced my first jaguar.

The combat is insufferable. Sword is crap, whack, whack, whack etc. Super drawn out and boring. Gun misses at least half the time, takes forever to get a shot off, range is ♥♥♥♥, and it has like a 15 second cooldown. You can lock on to an enemy but the camera doesn't follow. Animation priority means you see enemies about to attack you but all you can do is get hit since you're locked into the combo you pushed in a second ago. Sometimes the guy stops blocking or loses the lock-on and I don't know why. One time the guy did nothing as I repeatedly tried to dodge. A jaguar caught me in a loop where it just kept hitting me and I couldn't block, dodge, run away or anything for a couple of seconds. Enemies can interrupt your attacks but you can't interrupt enemies. Don't know how to read enemies or their attacks, when there's supposed to be an opening. Just looks like a sloppy mess that you're supposed to defend against with these sluggish controls.

And then I ran into an invisible trap. "PRESS Y NOW OR RELOAD YOUR LAST SAVE" What the ♥♥♥♥ is that? I want to slap whoever thought that was a good idea.

And all that smacked me in the face in a span of like 30 minutes. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bummer that was. I enabled god mode out of exasperation, but that doesn't make the combat any quicker or more fun.

Gonna see if there's a trainer that boosts your damage or something.

I got by it. I think with a jaguar it helps if you have second character with you. All you have to do is block let your companion do the damage, and when the jaguar attacks your companion you can attack it.

I haven't played this game for around 6 months. I didn't have too many problems. The enemies I had problems with I would just avoid. I didn't have too much trouble with the jaguars though. They killed me a couple of times, but I eventually won. There was a different enemy I had trouble with, but I learned to avoid it until I had a higher level.

Well its a jaguar, what did you expect? and those crazy traps, yea their crazy, then again their traps, killed me a bunch of times due to the short reaction time, haha.

I accidentally stumbled on the jaguar near the plantation very early on, and somehow managed to kill it right off. Pure luck on my part. As for the combat, I actually quite like it. It has it's flaws, but I enjoy that it's not just straightforward hack and slash. It's not that difficult. Hold parry at all times and only attack when you see an opening. Obviously as you learn more stuff, like how to kick, etc., it becomes more bearable.

I'll stick by it some more. See how things go as I level up, and hopefully better learn how to spot openings, which hopefully won't just make encounters more drawn out.

But those traps are just straight up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Traps requires a single press of a button to avoid lol ..

The traps can take you by surprise a bit. Combat becomes less of a chore the further you progress. I'd say level up your blades skill, and try to learn a few of the early talents like kick and parry when you've got the gold for them, the help greatly.
