Third temple door bugged?

I saw a youtube video of how you could open the third temple with a cannon at the gate on the first island. How ever i am unable to do it myself, i have spend a lot of time changing the angle and shooting over and over again.
Is there someone i have to speak with before i can shoot the door down?

not really. take the left cannon and shoot several times. i tied the right cannon first but i dont think you can hit the door with it.

i did more then just shoot several times. I spend 20-25minutes shooting from hundreds of different angles and hights. I spend most of the time with the left cannon. I simply cant shoot it open, i use the same aim as in the youtube video. I even tried differend angles, but nothing
