Monkey trainer skill

Hi! I was wondering how to get the monkey trainer skill. I learned it very soon from the vendor/trainer in Tacarigua but later I noticed that I only got the monkey but not the skill (according to the skills list when you press 'c') Later, in Antigua, I found another vendor/trainer who could teach me the monkey trainer skill but once again, I didnt get the skill in the list but only the monkey. Anyone knows whats up with that?

it's a bug. there is an unofficial patch that prevents you from teaching it again ('cause it gives you nothing, and just takes your money), but, sadly, this patch is not fixing "monkey trainer" icon, which is always shows like "unlearned".
