Low fps/crashes
Recently finished risen 1 and really loved it so i purchased both risen 2 and 3. When I just started the game it put on max graphic settings on everything, but soon i got my first crash. The problem is that i need to put almost all settings to minimum so it doesnt crash and even then the FPS isn't great. I tried playing risen 3 to see if there is a difference, and like in risen 2 it put everything on max settings but it ran without problems so I guess it's not my hardware that's the problem.
I play on Windows 11 with compatibility mode on for windows 7 because that's the only way the game will start. My laptop has a 3050ti GPU and a i5-11400H processor. Any way i could make the game run better?

I found a fix myself.... I had to switch to my laptops integrated graphics for it to work as intended. No idea why the game has a problem with my 3050ti GPU.

I've not played Risen 3 yet but I had no issues with Risen 1 either.
Risen 2 though very frequent crashing on load screens.

I'm not the most techy minded when it comes to this stuff but I think the crashing issue is related to the game's low access to memory, it needs more than it can access when running the game on higher settings.

The fix I found thanks to a post in the Risen 1 forums, was to run this software patch on it.
https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

It's easy enough to use, just download it and run the program, go to where Risen 2 is installed on your PC then select Risen2.exe (the application that launches the game)

It will patch the game and allow Risen 2 to access 4GB of virtual memory instead of the meager 2GB of memory that it is normally limited to due to it being a 32bit game application designed for 32 bit Windows systems.
Most of us are running 64 bit versions of Windows these days which has a higher virtual memory cap, and this patch allows the game to take advantage of that.

Since patching my Risen 2 with this software I have had no more random crashes in the game.
I don't know for a guarantee that it's a total "fix" for the problem or if it simply greatly enhances the amount of time you can play for before the game does crash but either way it has made the game significantly more reliable to play for me and allowed me to make a lot of progress in my playthrough ^^

Suffice to say this 4GB patch software is a godsend since it's usable on literally any old 32bit games that are limited to 2GB virtual memory access.
So if you have any older games that have frequent random crashes likes this, this patching software will likely help with that.
