Venturo won't leave

venturo won't leave now after killing Basil,
the dialogue did not trigger upon going uphill, or after Basil was killed. Upon leaving downhill he does not un-join and start the quest "Follow Venturo to Puerto Isabella".
(yes I chose the attack head on option)

Not sure what will happen now. Probably there is a remove follower code that runs when I choose a side? He will probably remove without a word LOL, just spontaneously disappear or something?

I believe this happened (guessing), because I freed the savage Tanaka, with him? When leaving the tower at the bottom of the hill Venturo says something like "freeing a savage? Commandant will find out... bad idea" ... but he does not leave or anything.
In fact it is also funny how he will attack his fellow soldiers that doesn't seem likely IRL...
I guess he's just very devoted and thinks I am a total pirate badass.

If anyone knows how to bypass this that would be great. I like to do all quests. I like the game to function as it was designed. But from what I can tell I don't think there is a way. Well yes there is I could go back one whole hour and reload from before letting the savage free... and that might not even be the real reason...

But I looked up the escort Venturo back quest it only gives you 10 xp like most "follow me there" quests.
I will see what happens when joining a side.
Otherwise I would guess maybe when you go back to Steelbeard he might leave.

Certainly other players used Venturo to kill everything on the Sword Coast. Why wouldn't you. I am nearly invincible fighting with this guy.

When you reach the main gate with Venturo he will say that he's done and then move to the tavern down by the docks. Until you actually complete the "Follow . . . " missions he just sort of hangs around.

He did not do that he is still in my party after choosing sides but he is now one of the 4 guys I'm supposed to attack the pirate Crow with,
so probably I may have to choose to ask him to come with to the E Temple, which will then make him leave party, or eventually leave my party, as he will now be tied to the new quest.

I meant I can't start his (Ventura's) follow mission because the other mission (attack the 3 pirates in the tower) never completes now. It is where he wants to attack "Basil" it is a group of 3 pirates in a tower. It is to the W of the Earth Temple. if you choose "attack from the front" option he joins you for a minute ... but if you don't kill Basil he will stay with you.. very useful..

But now I have killed Basil and he is still with me.

See I used save spamming to see what would happen, 1st time I did it normal and killed Basil right away and Venturo then left party and started the follow venturo to P Isabella quest, but then I reloaded and avoided to kill Basil for a long time,
So I had seen what happens normally

If the quest for following Venturo is still in your logbook then you haven't finished it. When you get back to the main gate you need to talk to him to end it.

Yes but I can't finish it because it won't start, it's bugged now.
Will write a letter to PB maybe I have a list here of many other bugs also.

however if a player wanted to keep Venturo on purpose could use this bug.

see once you start the "attack the pirates in the tower" quest you cant finish the "follow ventura to puerto isabella" quest until Venturo initiates a conversation with you after killing Basil. Which he does not do now

when you go up the hill he is supposed to says something, then going back down the hill after you kill Basil he is supposed to say, well thats done, then he un-joins you, and continues the follow me to puerto isabella quest. None of that happens / happened.

The other way to keep him is just to avoid the pirates tower, which is what I did, and venturo will fight with you indefinitely, but now I am about ready to leave the Sword coast

but Venturo is still with me LOL , will probably get removed with this "4 muskets" quest...
but I could have chose the native side then what would've happened

It maybe what bugged it out was when you report to the Commandant "I have venturo's report" (Venturo was with me as a follower when I did this and didn't say anything lol).

it is for a very short time he joins you, unless you avoid the tower, which I did and I used him to kill nearly everything on the sword coast for xp, it is very easy with him in your party

I think he only joins you if you choose to attack the pirate camp head on, or through the front gate... not if you try to sneak in the back, there is a choice

I am just musing on this bug but I will report what happens when I try to leave the Sword Coast.
I mean it's even possible the game will crash or get broken and or I will have to reload a save from 4 hours ago. That already happened to me with another quest a while ago

eventually he will leave if you join inqusition, he will leave after defeat the boss,
