Angus/Corrientes/Garcia game-killing bug

Has anyone found a way to continue the game if you rescue Angus before getting through the fire portal? Once it is revealed that Corrientes is really Garcia, there doesn't seem to be a way to continue the game without killing the entire Maracai village at once, which seems totally impossible. Garcia immediately tries to kill you, and there is no dialogue option that gets him to tell you how to open the portal.

This is not a bug but how the story unfolds. You could have just not tried to reveal his true identity in front of everyone. I mean what were you thinking just running into the village were all his guys and the natives are who are helping him and tell him "Hey and btw I know who you really are"??????????

That is what your character says if you try to talk to him at all. There are no dialogue options.

You run away from the village, Garcia follows you, kill him and get the artifact.

This is not a bug! If you finish all the side quests in Maracai Bay, you will already have the Blood of the Ancestors to go through the door of fire in the southwest cave. All you have to do is talk with the shaman in the south, finish his quests, and then you can progress in the story. https://guides.gamepressure.com/risen2/guide.asp?ID=15106 Read the bottom section.
