Please help me to fix the bugs! Brauche Hilfe wegen Fehlern im Spiel !

Hello! I´m a german gamer and need help with Risen 2 - Dark Waters!

To prey animals or beasts doesn´t work! There is no menu for that! The menu is absent..

I can just pick up meat - despite butcher´s saw!! :-(

Cooking doesn´t work too. The menu for that is missing too! I have tried it many times and installed the game again and again with diferent settings ... it does not work correct!

Can somebody help me with that or tell me how I can fix the bugs or eliminate the errors !?

Maybe you can read my text in german thereto? Sorry, my english is fairly bad ...

To Risen 2 and my problems with that:

Dieses Spiel ist komplett Bug-verseucht. Entscheidende, spielbeeinflussende Aspekte funktionieren nicht. Man kann zum Beispiel trotz Knochensäge im Inventar keine Tiere ausweiden bzw. keine Hörner, Hauer und Krallen von getöteten Tieren nehmen - man lernt dies übrigens bei keinem Lehrer (die Option dazu fehlt ja auch) sondern soll dies laut Betreibern auch so können (funktioniert hier aber nicht); Man kann nicht Kochen etc.. Die dazugehörigen Spielmenüs werden noch nicht einmal angezeigt! Kein Inventarmenü beim erlegten Tier etc.! Man kann mit Kochtöpfen beispielsweise überhaupt garnicht erst agieren und bei toten Tieren/Monstern kann man nur per Mausklick das Fleisch nehmen - sonst absolut nichts! Dadurch gehen nicht nur haufenweise Münzen (durch verkaufbare Gegenstände) verloren, die man für den weiteren Aufstieg im Spiel sehr gut gebrauchen könnte (!), sondern es geht irgendwann auch der ganze Spielspaß verloren. Spätestens nachdem man das Spiel mehrmals neu installiert und ausprobiert hat sowie versucht hat das Spiel, nach Updates etc. mit verschiedenen Einstellungen bei Grafikanzeige usw. zu spielen, ohne dass dadurch die Bugs/Spielfehler behoben werden konnten, hat man endgültig die "Nase" voll. Die Fehlerüberprüfung bei bzw. von Steam kann man auch komplett vergessen. Dort wird zwar ständig eine angeblich "fehlerhafte" Spieldatei gefunden und "neu angefordert" (es wird im Hintergrund dazu auch scheinabr etwas heruntergeladen und danach steht sofort "1 von 1 Download(s) abgeschlossen", doch ohne irgendetwas an der (unbekannten) fehlerhaften Datei oder an den Fehlern im Spiel zu ändern! Von den früheren Problemen mit der Kanone und dem Tempel gegenüber im Spiel will ich erst garnicht anfangen! ...

you need tools to get extra loot from animals, there are 4 altogether, one for skins, one for claws, one for tusks and teeth, and one for other stuff like eyes, jaguar heart, etc. there is no inventory window for looting like in risen, only for chests, so you just take stuff and it shows up on the left of the screen (1x skin, 5x gold, etc.),

never had a problem with cooking, go near a campfire, click on it and you can turn raw meat/fish/etc. into provisions.

shooting the door of the temple open with the cannon is a bit tricky, just keep trying and use the cannon on the left (if you're facing outside).

I have a butcher´s saw but it doesn´t work. I can still just pick up meat. Nothing else. :-(

I can´t pick up the tusks of an boar although I have the tool for that! It must be an error.

The campfire works but the saucepan not ! I can´t interact with that.

I can´t click (on) the pot ..

PS: The wall don´t fall if I shot with the cannon ....

Do you know if there any patch or update for such problems? Hotfix?

the bone saw is for claws from monkeys and ghouls, for tusks and teeth you need the jaw chisel, skinning knife for skin and ritual knife for voodoo drops like firebird feathers, etc.

no, you can't interact with saucepans or pots in risen 2, they're not for cooking anymore, it's not a bug.

and as I said, keep trying with the temple door, it took me a while until I succeeded.

Thanks! You are right! I have tried it with the temple door many times and now it seems to be work also with the claws.. :-) Can I get claws from crabs too?? I could get from these beasts just shells.

I thought I´m going crazy .. I hadn´t played before it for a long time and I thought it would be like the old Risen (1) where you can cook soups etc. but now I understand. In Risen 2 you can just destil booze on a distillery or brew a potion on the voodoo bowl if you have skilled this befor that.

Can you say me where I can learn to draw beast if there is any teacher in the game (Risen 2)?

Or do I just need these 4 tools for that? Where I can get these tools? I could find or get in Takarigua by now only the bone saw. Where I can get or buy the other tools (jaw chisel, skinning knife and ritual knife) or more!?

crabs drop shells and if you have the ritual knife, you can get eyes as well. no training necessary, just get the 4 tools and you're good.

you can get 2 more tools on the sword coast, the next location after tacarigua (skinning knife from the commandant's wife or from a corpse later, the other one is sold by someone I think, maybe the natives, can't remember). if you actually join the natives, you can buy a ritual knife from them as well, but if not, you can go back to caldera, the starting location after finishing the sword coast and get a ritual knife from there.

So if I understand you right I can´t get all the necessary tools to loot beasts on Tacarigua!?

Do you know also how, when or where I can get a jaw chisel ? I could really need this useful tool because on Tacarigua are many boars! :D

no, there's only 1 tool on tacarigua, for claws, but you can come back later to kill the boars and other stuff. I still killed some of them for xp and left the rest for the second visit, but killed everything on the sword coast before I got the ritual knife. I didn't want to join the natives, so I don't need voodoo items and money with lockpicking and pickpocketing is enough, so I don't really need extra loot, but I wanted more xp for other skills sooner.

I thought I could find all the tools from the beginning - all I could really need in Tacarigua. So I was wrong.. :( Ok, so I´ll try it later there if I come back to those island. Thank you!

even in the first game you couldn't get all the tools at the beginning, so it's not a big surprise :)

Yep, That´s right. So I need propably more patience.. ;)

About one thing however I still wondering: Why can I do nothing with the pot on the cooker and also don´t drink water of the wooden barrels? I still can´t interact with this things. Are they really completely useless in Risen 2 ? It doesn´t make sense for me..

you can't interact with these, it's not part of the game anymore. there's a mod I think that lets you interact with them, like the npcs do, but I don't know if they actually function, probably not.

I think that it´s strange that you can not interact with water barrels, pots or stoves in the game and the NPC´s can do that. But okay.. Now I know that.

Sadly I have found now some real little bugs or errors in the game Risen 2:

Error 1: If I try to sneak in the house where you can find the boots of Largo (for the quest) there is a invisible wall at the door and I can´t go in this house! It works just if I go normal or make a role in! So the guards hear and detect me..

Error or Bug 2: After load of a savegame the pistol have sometimes no ammo although I had ammo as I saved the game and despite I have a lot of ammo at the same time in my inventory. That´s really crazy, sad and makes me angry because I can´t shoot than... I must start the game new and load again and again my savegames (sometimes it works and sometimes don´t) or discard the weapon and equip them new that I can use them and shoot again. Reload the weapon (Pistol) doesn´t works!

I had tried both things by reason of these errors or propable bugs many times. Still the same error again and again. :-/

Had you such problems in the game too or do you know why that doesn´t works?

the first one didn't happen to me, but maybe try it again at night.

the ammo thing actually happened for the first time last night. I think it wasn't after loading a save but getting back the monkey, then all my ammo disappeared, but switching weapons or something fixed it, so it's not a huge problem.

what's annoying is even if you save with your weapon out, when you load, you won't have your weapon out, so saving and loading mid-combat is more annoying than it should be.

I had tried to sneak at night in the house as it happened. There is some kind of bug at the door!

What do you mean with "getting back the monkey"?

I don't know why it's not working, but you don't want to give largo his clothes back anyway because the +1 cunning earring is pretty great, much more useful than the 1k gold you'd get from largo.

if you get monkey training (needs cunning 6), you can use a monkey to go into small holes and activate levers to open doors for yourself.
