So do rats eat bodies and count as kills or no? Also, where's a safe place to put bodies?
Are dumpsters safe? On a table? Barrels? Ground with a timer?

Thanks in advance.

Yes if rats/bloodflies eat bodies it will count as a kill. Just keep an eye out around you if there are any there, then stash the body wherever you want honestly as long as its far/high enough away from them

I'm using tables and barrels. I imagine they're high enough that rats won't get to them?

I'm using sea and dumpsters safe way to hide body

Putting any unconscious bodies in water will count as a kill.

"Unconscious characters killed by naturally-occuring rat swarms do not count against Clean Hands achievement" -Dishonored Wiki

Only rats you summon with powers should add to your kills.

I've been leaving unconscious bodies on the ground everywhere for a few missions now and noone died so far.
You are probably much more likely to kill someone accidentaly if you forget something rewired or a headless clockwork soldier behind those DO count as kills.

Wiki is wrong. D2 does not have as many rats as D1 especially on low chaos; but if rats or flies kill your unconscious bodies it counts as kill

Late to this misinformation party & I can give the benefit of doubt for rats, but bloodfly kills most certainly do NOT count against you. Just observed this again in my latest run - a swarm devoured 4 people I'd left close by, and my kill count remained a flat 0. I am guessing it's the same thing with rats, test to confirm. Most likely, just like in D1, unless you created the pests with a power or bone charm, a KO'd person getting eaten by pests is NOT considered to be your kill.

That being said, KO'd bodies can die for no observable reason - this is rare but it can happen, and when it does, it WILL count as your kill. My best guess is it is clipping related & they somehow take fall damage when they shouldn't. I recommend leaving all bodies on 100% flat surfaces & never ever stacking them. Check your kill count every so often to be sure.

There is video proof from D1 in the wiki of a player directly throwing a unconscious body to a natural swarm of rats, they devour the body and he gets clean hands at the end of the mission.
D2 works the same way, unless you summoned them, it isn't your fault.
Most times something else caused the kill and people keep blaming on the poor rats.

One thing that surprised me were the nest keepers, I killed one with fire assuming they woudn't count, to be sure I instantly checked my stats and kills went up to 1.
So they DO count as kills, beware of accidentaly killing those.
