Only rats you summon with powers should add to your kills.
I've been leaving unconscious bodies on the ground everywhere for a few missions now and noone died so far.
You are probably much more likely to kill someone accidentaly if you forget something rewired or a headless clockwork soldier behind those DO count as kills.
That being said, KO'd bodies can die for no observable reason - this is rare but it can happen, and when it does, it WILL count as your kill. My best guess is it is clipping related & they somehow take fall damage when they shouldn't. I recommend leaving all bodies on 100% flat surfaces & never ever stacking them. Check your kill count every so often to be sure.
D2 works the same way, unless you summoned them, it isn't your fault.
Most times something else caused the kill and people keep blaming on the poor rats.
So they DO count as kills, beware of accidentaly killing those.
