Mouse sensitivity is directly tied to framerate
This is something I've never seen before:

Playing the tutorial, I found an area of the map that increases my FPS from 60 to 120 and I noticed that it's much harder to turn my character when the framerate goes way up. Like, the same movement that would turn my character 180 degrees at 60 FPS only turns her 90 degrees at 120 FPS.

I've rebooted, disabled mouse smoothing but I don't see any options that actually affect this behavior.

I can also replicate it by dropping the resolution from 1440p to 720p. The massive framerate increase immediately screws with the mouse setting which was OK at 60 FPS.

I'm not sure if it's related to G-Sync but that's what I'm using.

Please, please please please fix this. I want to love your game.

DISCLAIMER: It's likely that this behavior is only apparent on monitors that go over 60hz. Small framerate fluctuations don't make a big difference.

I got a 4K monitor. Acer B286HK. Ran game at 1080p. But fps drops anytime i want to turn around. Its driving me nuts.

Yeah, the mouse controls are completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Not sure how Arcane managed to mess them up so badly.

This issue happens on my 60hz monitor. It's especially noticable when my framerate drops below 40, but I'd need to go back to do checks.

vysnc is off and framerate is uncapped

The mouse is so horrible to control, regardless of the settings :(

4: Mouse Sensitivity Smoothing:
For Mouse smoothing in Dishonored 2, players need to edit the config file called "dishonored2Config.cfp". You will get access to this file in the following directory (the location differs from user to user, you might have installed the Dishonored 2 at some other driver so search accordingly)

C:\Users<Insert_Username>\Saved Games\Arkane Studios\dishonored2\base\dishonored2Config.cfg

Step 1: Once you have located the Dishonored 2 config file, Open it up with Word or Notepad or Notepad++.
Step 2: Press CTRL + F, search for term "Smooth"
Step 3: Change g_mousesmooth option from 1 to 0.
Step 4: (Very important) Save the changes
Step 5: Now Right click the .ini file, and make it READ ONLY, and click on Apply option.
If you guys fail to make the file READ ONLY then it automatically goes back to Smoothing. So don't forget to make the file read only. It is very noticeable when turned off. But it still feels rough.

Copying from another thread, You guys might try it. I can't since I'm posting from work but I'll try it once I'm back home and report the results.

Can someone please make a thread with these lifesaving things, include nvidia driver hotfix (version x.76 instead of recommended x.70), etc?

If not thread because it'd probably get burried too soon, than a guide would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I appreciate the note about mouse smoothing but this problem is very likely not caused by it. I tried playing around with the setting after I first installed the game. Didn't help.

I won't be able to confirm until later tonight though, so I'd appreciate someone else trying it out. Just make sure that you can replicate the problem listed in this thread before making any changes.

I just confirmed that forcing mouse smoothing off in dishonored2Config.cfg does NOT correct this problem. Yes, I saved and set the file to Read Only.

for anyone wondering, this is how it looks like, i just moved the mouse with constant speed right and left, this was when the game ran with about 150fps-180fps

https://youtu.be/_9NroQepQ7I

this is with friction off slider to 0 and 0 mouse smoothing

The fps issue seems to speed up mouse sense, it`s really weird.

I changed to Full-screen borderless and VSync ON, that helped a little.
