Achievements,controller support,trading cards ?!

I noticed there was an update and tried to run the game. I got the above error message. I deleted local content, restarted Steam and reinstalled. It still isn't working.

I can't get it to go full screen. I can only move and use one attack with my Logitech F310 gamepad. No button for jump, inv, etc. When I run it, there are two options in Steam: "Play the game" and "<blank>". If I select blank, I get an error. The window title of the game is "mygame". I've played 20 minutes or so and not made it more than 3 screens away from where you start (3 screens = the width of the game window x 3, not 3 areas). The video makes the game controls look really slow like everything is going super slow as if playing the game in molassis. Is the game fluid or muddy? The video doesnt help answer that question.
