But the last one I bought it stayed.
The golden epic in the challenge shop is different for everyone.
It has already been confirmed by several parties. I must've read it on Reddit. But for the sake of it, we can test this right now. The chance for both of us to get loot for the same crusader is 151 to 1. Right now I got Ranger Rayna in my shop. What do you have?
If it were the same golden epic for everyone, then it'd make more sense to set the cooldown to a fixed 14 days and not tie it in to when the item was bought. So it'd basically work the same as event timers but for items. I suppose they could generate a piece of epic legendary loot and add an exception to remove previous item from the pool so players can't get offered the same items twice in a row. The benefit with this system would be the 14 day set interval. Buying your item at day 1 or day 13 wouldn't matter since you'd still be offered a new item on day 14 from the day the item appeared in the shop. The backside would be that you'd eventually be offered items you already own(due to that items would need to be offered more than one time to account for new players), which would be kind of annoying since you'd have to wait 14 days for the next item and there would be no guarantee that you don't already own that too.
The system we have now may be best for everyone since it's random 'drop', assuming you can't get offered gear you already own. If so, then it'd take at least 5 years and ~289 days since your first golden epic to get all 151 golden epics currently available. This does however not account for new golden epics which would add 14 days to the estimate. Worst would be if you could get offered golden epics you already own, which would add 14 days for each duplicate you get offered since you'd have to wait for the 14 day cooldown to end, regardless if you buy the offered item or not.
You also need to afford every item released, which is something that's not possible ATM due to the frequency of the challenges required to earn tokens. So if you can't afford 1 item and miss it, then you may have to wait a long time for the next opportunity and rely on chance to get it(the current chance for a specific item is ~0.66%). Take note that max zone for challenges ATM averages about 100 tokens and you need 360 tokens tokens for a golden epic. With a new challenge every week, you can get about 400-450 tokens monthly. This gives you one golden epic and a few spare tokens towards your next loot. Meanwhile, the shop has under this time reset twice and is 2-3 days on it's way to a third reset. This means you have to skip a few items on the way to afford most of them later.
This. Mine is still Leerion coin GE for next 1d11h. There is also a cooldown lock when a challenge GE expires till you visit the shop to see whats next.
