Bug Reporting Tips

Hey Everyone,

Bugs, bugs, bugs. As with any software product, there will always be errors, glitches, and oddities that are unaccounted for. This is especially true for an Early Access product where new features are being added to the code on a daily basis.

We always try to squash the biggest issues we are aware of before each release. That being said, we are a small team and and it's impossible to account for every hardware combination and player behavior. It's these issues that we are most interested in learning about.

So you've encountered a bug? What's next?
1) Check this forum to see if anyone else has encountered the same or a similar issue. If so, update the existing thread with any additional information you can provide.
2) Let us know what version of the game you were playing.
3) Let us know what operating system you are running on and any hardware info you know.
4) Attach your output_log.txt file. This file can be found in your "SteamApps/common/Star Command Galaxies/StarCommandGalaxies_Data" folder on Windows, or in your "Library/ApplicationSupport/Steam/SteamApps/common/StarCommandGalaxies.app" file on Mac.
5) Attach a screenshot if you can.
6) Describe as meticulously as you can, what you did or were doing when the bug occured. If you are able to repeat the bug, using the same steps, let us know.
