Supreme Commander 2

Mac version?
Hey guys,

I just tried to install Supreme Commander 2 on my Mac (it now seems to be listed under the "Mac Games" section in the library!) However, install was instant and when trying to play the game it said that the files were corrupt. Any ideas? Should Steam have showed this as a Mac game in the first place...?

Thanks!

James

Same problem here too.
There is no mac version of this game. I can only assume that it is showing up in the Mac game list due to a bug in steam.

I thought that might be the case. It's a shame because there is a Mac version of the game out there!

Just tried and it says they're all fine... Takes up 0 space on disk lol. Either it's supposed to be available for Mac or it isn't, would be nice to hear from someone official!

I really wish we could get an answer to this, anyone contact steam support?

I noticed after I posted this up that there's an identical thread for this issue. The guys in that thread reckon the game is going under a beta (if you go to properties of the game there's something under the beta tab). I'm on another Mac now and I don't see Supreme Commander 2 listed in my library. Maybe it's coming! :D

There IS an official MAC version. Google it. You can try a few things but ultimatley if a steam game fails to initialize it is often because of hardware, reguardless of what it tells you. Right click on Supreme Commander 2 (in steam library) and go to properties. Then go to "local files" and then "verify integrity of game cache". If that doesn't work, then uninstall and reimall the game. Hope I could help :)

i got a replie from steam about this topic,

"Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
The game you are attempting to play is not currently available for Mac via Steam.
To play this game, you will need to install Steam on a Windows-based computer.
When purchasing games on the Steam store, look for the Apple logo, as seen here:
http://cdn.store.steampowered.com/public/images/v5/platforms/platform_steamplay.png
Games that feature this logo can be played on both Windows and Mac computers. "

D2M have a Mac version however you have to buy it off them for about $40 which allows you to play on both mac and pc, this suck considering i own the PC copy of the game and im not happy on the idea of having to buy a game i already own

I came across the game on the OS X App Store
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/supreme-commander-2/id645829055?mt=12

Not bad price too for a really good game.
