Worms doesn't work either. Seems to be a steam-server-problem.
Obviously first thing, switch router off for about a min, then switch back on, run some speed tests. (speedtest.net is a good one).
As a general rule of thumb Ping below 100 is good, below 50 is excellent. Though it can depend on the game. If you have a really high ping this will cause games connection issues and lag. Even though your download speeds may appear visually to be okay. (pings can vary from server to server though)
If you do have high pings, you need to speak to your isp.
I have a similar issue...Have you ever figured out a fix...?
I actually lose my internet connection when i join a multiplayer game. i stay connected to my router my my internet in my whole house shuts down.
I have looking for help on this issue for a while
If no one has any downloading software running. Then I would check your internet speeds, if your speeds are fine, I would then look at your router.
Essentially when your joiing a multiplayer game of sc2, you're simpy connecting to another persons computer, your not going through any gaming servers and your not using steam etc, If it was the other persons connection and not yours, you would not loose connection to other things, you would simply not be able to connect, or your sc2 would drop connection, but everything else would continue to work fine, also this would not affect anyone else in the house, just you directly.
As you are able to join, then you loose your entire internet, this points at a fault at your side somewhere, the most likely culprit is your router, have you another you can try or lend to try? If changing your router does not help or you do not have a spare, I would speak to your Internet Service Provider (isp).
Bought a new Router - No help
Tried a different modem - No help
Hard wired directly to my modem - NO help
installed SC2 on a different computer in my house - same problem
My internet speeds are very good - 26 DL 10 Up from wireless/ 55DL 15Ul Wired
I do not have any torrent programs of P2P programs running.
My ISP says everything is fine...
The disconnect happens after I join the lobby..usually when the 3rd person joins, or if I join a loby with more than 2 people in it (this is what I have noticed)
Like I said...sometimes it actually lets me make a game...But then I will usually DC on the next one...
