Missing .exe file

Decided to redownload for the first time in a while, tried to start it and gor 'failed to start game - missing executable' when I browsed through the directory the entire bin folder was missing meaning no .exe file at all.

Since steam downloaded it like this it seems to think that the cache is perfectly fine and will not redownload. I've tried reinstalling, restarting steam, deleting th folders by hand... nothing so far, anyone else had this problem?

Not properly, used a friends accout to download it then relogged into mine with the files all there

Is the game installed in the default steam directory? If you use steamtools it might give some issues.

Basically installing it from my account only downloaded a few of the files, logging on to my friends then starting the download sent it to the same location (\steamapps\common\Supreme Commander 2) but downloaded all the files. I then logged back onto mine and ran it smoothly. Yeah there was no reason it should have messed up, from looking at the files it gave me I now think it only downloaded the DLC and not the base game for some reason
