Game won't launch

I have been playing this game with no problems. Now all of a sudden it won't launch from the library.
Ant ideas anyone ??

Try the basics.

Safemode.

Right Click on Supreme Commander 2 in the Library view
Select Properties
In the General tab hit the "Set Launch Options" button
Enter in either "/Safe" or "/SafeMode" no quotes
Launch the game
Set your options
exit the game
remove the /safemode from the launch options.
launch as per normal

If it still does not work. Then try removing your prefs file.
Its normally located here:

C:\Users\(UserName)\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander 2\Game.prefs

Good luck, one of those 2 should get you going, since you were able get to lauch the game at some point. :)

I'm running win10, having the same problem. Safe mode didn't work, files have been validated, game.prefs didn't show up in a search and the directory doesn't have anything like that in it. Any other ideas?

Try running from the exe, not steam, Try Compatability modes xp, vista, 7 ? Run as admin?

Ok, admin exe didn't work but it looks like theres an incompadibility issue with Nvidia graphics. I ran it using intigrated graphics and it actually launched.

I ran it in compadibility mode windows 7 and it launched and didn't crash.

Not quite, but its possible a driver issue or a conflict with having 2 gpu's, perhaps its does not know which on to use etc.' Im running it on a gtx970, and I can run it on an nvidia 8600gsm.

Glad you managed to get it to work for you, and this may help others with 2 gpu's.

This is happening to me as well. I used to be able to run it before i changed my motherboard, processor, and graphics card. I tried running it but it doesn't launch. I already tried putting it into safemode, running it from the exe, running it in windows 7 compatibility mode and running it as administrator. I also couldn't even find the game pref folder.

Can someone help me, I played the game on Xbox and this computer is new so can someone help me through the steps, it won't start up, it did originally but the cursor was invisible and now it just won't start anymore.

Maybe a problem with fullscreen, missing graphics or something else. Try verifying the integrity of game cache or launching the game in different resolution through the steam startup command thingy.
