Is multiplayer is alive?

I am considering buying this game, but I'd like to play multiplayer and I was wondering if it was still alive. If not, which one of the Supreme Commander games has active multiplayer?

TL;DR: Yes.

Long answer: There is a small community of people who still regularily play this game, including content creators. Compared to most other RTSs, especially games of this age, it is very active. However, don't expect to launch the game and find a gazillion open lobbies to join - games can take around an hour so people aren't as visible.
The european evening and weekends are usually the best time to play. Joining some groups and making friends also helps. You can also host lobbies yourself, but should bring some patience (5-10 minutes).

Supcom 2 mp is pretty dead , if you want an active ( and better supcom ) Supcom 1 with FAF mod is the way to go tons of people play it online.
