Faulty replay?
After having played an amazing 3v2 game I decided to save the replay of it for future observation.

When I immediately watched it back I noticed the replay went very differently to how the game went. 2 players in the replay hardly built anything which was wrong as they were the 2 dominant players. My units mainly sat around when I know they either died or should have been long gone and the end of the replay ended with no commanders dying.

Is this a bug or did I find 2 gamers who were cheating and the system is showing how the game should have gone if they did not cheat?

This is a quite common problem amongst most top-tier players: desynced replays.

Infact, a Supreme Commander2 replay is a match hosted with bots, and only the commands these bots will give are saved.

Now it can sometimes happen that during a match, for different reasons, players desync, destroying the replay, as no, or false commands will be saved as a replay later.

Sadly, there is no way to restore those replays.

(Cheating can cause desync too, yes. But mostly it are some random connection issues of people still using AOL to acces the web).

It is a shame the replay is broken as I was hoping to learn from the match. Many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. Mnay thanks.

No problem, i know i'm a magnificant being...
Fun aside, it is always nice to see players trying to improve and get past the "spam Mass Converters and nukes"-phase. I hope you continue learning and watch some of StealSpeak's casts (or alternatively Alphahex' and mine guides on steam) to become better.

See you on the battlefield, commander!
