Wall jump extremely unreliable. Would really appreciate some hints.
I'm trying to get past some areas using the wall jump technique, but can only pull it off 1 out of like 20 attempts. Both with a controller and with a keyboard.

I initially thought it was mid-air control moving Erina away from the wall causing it to fail, but then I made a macro for it and it is still that unreliable. Did I miss something?

Assuming you're talking about the hidden tech, the requirement is changing the direction you're facing at least once in the air before doing the wall jump. Easiest to do by facing away from the wall before starting your jump.

I did partially explain on this in my guide since its very important for sequence-breaking and 0% items, but..........nvm, here, watch this video by another helpful player instead..

TLDR, without the wall jump item, you have to literally rely on REVERSE wall jump, you can't just jump off a wall that's in front of you.

My timing on a lot of my reverse wall jumps is awful. I've actually compensated by spamming the timing. It actually works that way too thankfully to a good degree.

This explains it.... Finally got it working, thanks a lot!

That video came top when I googled "rabi ribi wall jump". No chance I didn't watch that. The problem is that it didn't explain the intricacies. Thank you as well now that the problem is solved.

Direction waggling for the reverse wall jump honestly works way more than it should (it works like ~95% of the time) but I'm glad it does. Glad to know I'm not the only person who does it that way, lol.

I can't get the kick working. Pressie Y + Down only makes her fall down despite touching the wall. How am I supposed to to the wall kick once I did the reverse jump?

After you touch the wall press Z + down simultaneously to perform wall kick. You need to practice this a lot since its hard to do in 1 time.

I'm using Switch Pro controller. There is no Z. Y is the hammer attack button, X is for fairy attack, A for Jump. I keep trying mid air (after reverse jump) pressing Down +Y (attack button) but she only trigger the attack, when I do A (jump) + down she just goes straight down with blue shadow after her (i keep trying all combinations)

well to be simplified you have to press jump + down when you touch the wall (in your case it is A + down). Like I said you have to train this a lot of time, and to make it easier, let her touch the wall and fall down a bit then perform wall kick. Also after perform wall kick quickly release down button or else she will fall so hard that you feel you fail to wall kick.
