Rainbow Gem Tips?
I am fighting the Rainbow Gem boss on 0% run, however I am having trouble.
I am jumping from the walls to attack them once they are out of reach but the thing is their first attack ruins my HP.
When they first preform it, I get hit -14hp but have learnt to jump over them to dodge, though I may get hit once more depending on my luck here.

I can only get them close to 1/2 hp before I die so any tips on these guys?

Is there anyone else I could recruit for my 10th one (going for the "Away from Home" thingy achievement so don't want to get the amulet till I recruited one more)
I cannot recruit the computer girl because I am going for not saving Ribbon's friends achievement too. Wondering if there is anyone else to recruit instead so I could get the amulet.

Do it early. Don't put it off to the end. It's a much, muuuuch easier fight if you beeline it.

Tell that to my sanity

Well, failing that, it's a really ugly fight where your ability to really survive depends on how precise you can be. You can kill one of the gems before it gets out of its very first pattern if you focus every charge shot onto it (It'll most likely be Yellow, but Orange or Green are also possible and may be better options, honestly). After that, it's a matter of doing jumpshots off the walls to hit targets. You won't be able to jumpshot during the second pattern, but you can sit in a corner and angle shot upward to hit crystals as they pass the opposing corner. That'll help get some damage on all of them.

From there, it's a matter of what crystals pop out individually in what order. I don't think I Burst attacked any crystal above half HP, but you might want to give it a try to see how much damage you do. An ideal Burst kills two crystals or a priority crystal (so Green, Orange, or Purple). Red is probably the least-threatening Crystal in the fight so you can afford to just time that one out and wait for a better Crystal to burst.

The rotating attack where they go down to a corner and then rotate towards the opposite corner, I'm pretty sure, is unavoidable in 0%. You'll just have to eat the hit there. Take this time to get a couple of shots on them, knowing that this pattern isn't really a good pattern to attack. Not a large enough window. The following pattern you'll do no damage in; just focus on dodging.

I can't remember if the top to bottom rotating crystal pattern is before or after the second solo crystal segment, but if it's before, you can do a lot of damage in this pattern and can likely kill a crystal or two because of how long the pattern is, or at least soften up a lot of crystals for your second Burst.

Use your boosts defensively, at least for me in 0% i got a full bar(definately do that before every fight in 0% if you can) and remember that the boost gives you a defense buff, figure out which crystal's "solo pattern" you have the hardest time with and try and focus on shooting only that one as much as possible as they heal each other every time one of them dies, so shooting multiple tends to be wasted effort. Otherwise a boost should be able to destroy a crystal every time it goes solo and loses its defense. So thats basically two guaranteed crystals gone AND you also get reduction on their damage if they hit you during their pattern. Also you get a heal from each crystal you destroy so as long as you focus on playing defensively and only on one crystal at a time, i'm, sure you'll make it through.

As for recruiting anyone else, as of recent patch you can do the entire game including the post game in 0%, I just got Keke Bunny after many tries, albeit with very good luck and amulet usage.

You can use Halo Boosts, any buffs from townspeople, and Cocoa Bombs if you want. During the post-game while Cocoa is running the shop, you can also buy healing items (before you beat Rumi). Particularly, the mana buffs are a pretty huge dps increase, and the health and defense debuffs basically make your health pool irrelevant until the buffs run out.

The Halo Buffs? I'm unsure, didn't use them until i had already beaten the main game, but I don't think that they would.

Alrighty, long as I am still heading for 0% run haha

Cocoa bombs insta kill the boss, and they dont affect the 0% run. (got the main game no items achievement this way). No need for pain.

use the halo buffs just die till you get to level 3, there are some safe spots where attacks will never hit, if all are active during the top crystal rain segment stand in the mid left, safe spots are found during all even number gems remaining, wall jump and shot as mentioned earlier, or you can go back to town and buy some cocoa bombs if your not in a speed run, that way you can do massive damage to them all at once, healing will bring back alot of the health though. :rbrb2: forget the cocoa bombs, no item run, derp.

I am unsure if her bombs count but I was able to do it after like 8 deaths haha

There have been a few bug reports about Cocoa Bomb vs Rainbow Crystal boss, so be careful.

I'm already on post game, fighting Rumi.
But if that's true, man, it could've saved me so much pain...
