I'm working on a nude-patch for Rabi-Ribi, and I'm dead serious. As an avid member of the modding community, I feel it is *someone's* duty to lewd the bunnies.

I would post a link to the discussion I've started elsewhere, buuut. . . it is sort of on a "forbidden site", which is often abbreviated as "LL".

A quick Google search won't bring it up, so I instead suggest you look up "Nretsmah" and head on over to the "forbidden" LL. With a little bit of poking around, you'll see a post started by me titled "Rabi-Ribi Nude Mod *In Progress*"

Now let's talk about what's poppin'. I'm a pixel artist, and I have some experiance working with pixel animation in general. With that in mind, I've been working on nude-sprites for the main character in this game. I'd like to lewd-ify other characters at some point, but for now I want to keep my work load manageable.

I could use some help and feedback on the mod though. Does anyone here have any interest in contributing some artistic talent or skills for a nude patch?

The quotes will always appear at the bottom of the comment you're writing in though, even if your text cursor is higher up. Not that you can't copy paste to move it, but it might be worth noting :P

It'd be bad if you started working on something specifically for the workshop only to find out that it's not allowed in the end! Still, might be worth trying to ask around to see what is or isn't allowed on the workshop, since I'm certainly no authority on how it works. And there is an account setting to blur user content with violence/nudity/sexual content in it, so clearly it seems like things are allowed to a certain extent… And in the end, this is art, not reality. It might still be better to err on the side of caution though of course.

Oh dear, that would be a real shame! We decided to post a non-nude version on the Workshop, and a nude version elsewhere.

Yes, some time ago GARbro was enable to open archives of that game, and No, it's not working for now (except version 1.90 of that game or below). Same issue with QuickBMS.
Thats why i've said that the only way of modding actual version of the game is Workshop.

And some words about "extracting archive" to the game folder. As I mentioned above, only v1.90 archive can be extracted. And v1.99 have new textures (for example, tiles of OST and Before Next Adventure DLC's if purchased). If you do that "trick", new textures wil never be shown during the game process. Thats why i cannot say this method is 100% reliable.

Workshop is not working perfectly for now too, but that's another story.

That's exactly what I did, and to my understanding it no longer works. My loose archive has been more than enough for me, but I realize that I need to design mods for this game in such a way that is. . . intended. But that sounds like a very real problem. Without knowing the correct file structure, I can't try to repair my loose archive either.

Hmm I dunno, maybe, but it's quite common for people to mention/link to off-site patches and such, albeit usually for things like visual novels from developers that are known for making adult content… I'm actually not too sure how common it is to link fanmade adult stuff for non-adult games on steam though. So I guess it does seem like it might be somewhat risky depending on the level of "adultness". Something like everyone simply being naked feels rather tame on the scale though.

That's part of the problem. Due to the nature of this mod (nudity), I don't feel comfortable posting a direct link to it on the forums. I worry it would be considered "pornographic content", which could result in a ban. In addition, I host my mods on a certain site (LL for short), which can also get me banned if I decided to link directly to it.

Steam has literal hentai games, so posting a nude mod in the workshop of an ecchi game like this one shouldn't be a problem at all. Just don't share screenshots of the actual nude bits.

If you look at Wallpaper Engine's workshop, you'll see a lot of R18+ stuff. Some previews even show nudity. I wouldn't recommend doing that, but people don't appear to be getting banned for it. In fact, there's even a tag dedicated to it.

It's not too bad since it only takes about 10 seconds or so per quote when you think about it :D Maybe longer if you're stitching together different parts within the same quote though, or trimming down particularly big walls of text like the ones I tend to write XD But you're welcome!

Yep, it is. I'm not sure if there's a way to word this without sounding like a member of UPRPRC (a.k.a. the in-game group of deeply obsessed bunny lovers :P), but if it wasn't welcome I wouldn't have taken those efforts to try to look into rules to help make sure the mod creation can ideally be worked on with the least amount of risk/pain, haha

Well, adult games are allowed now, sure, but supposedly the guidelines for community content haven't particularly changed (according to the Wallpaper Engine dev in the 3rd link below)… So I think it's mainly only actual game creators that aren't as restricted.

That Wallpaper Engine link sent me off on another rule-searching spree, this time centered around that program, and it sounds like non-real nudity over there (but still not things like sexual acts) is allowed if you mark it as Mature. Also "Mature" isn't really a tag over there, but a rating setting. A similar thread to the one I just linked has a slightly expanded screenshot of the one in the first one (there's a bit more rule text). And here's a conversation someone had with a (the?) Wallpaper Engine dev on the topic of whether or not NSFW stuff is allowed. Lastly, the dev also very briefly talked (very mild NSFW warning (exposed anime boob in OP), but apparently linking even steam stuff via formatting opens them in your main browser instead of steam, to it should be blurred anyway) to someone about why their content was banned, which wasn't done by the dev but by valve's image recognition software. There are only about 20 comments combined for all of those links, so they're quick reads for the most part.

The OP of that last one seems to have deleted what they wrote at some point, but it was apparently originally about a VAC2 ban (which looks to have been an error). That aside, I agree with the dev's sentiments in the first post of that thread; the workshop needs an adult section so that worries over NSFW stuff like this can be all but put to rest.

But yeah… I dunno if the NSFW rules over there would apply everywhere, it all feels a bit murky XD On a slightly random note, I remembered that ESRB ratings always have that "online interaction not rated" disclaimer, so I don't think the rating itself has any weight with workshop stuff at the very least.

I have to wonder if simple anime nudity is okay in the end (but maybe not directly in the workshop preview like the comment just a bit above suggests)… I'm also wondering if it partially depends on the kind of community around a game (e.g. riskier the lower the general age group/tolerance of a community)… Rabi-Ribi already has tons of scantily-clad girls, which likely turns away a lot of the people that'd be bothered enough to care in the first place.

Random but somewhat relevant fun fact: Literally no female character in the game wears pants, which was an intentional design decision.

Aaand once again, phew, after some hours spent on this, one catching-a-wasp-in-a-bug-jar later, and many, maaaany hours of getting sidetracked by other posts and such along the way, here's another wall of text XD If there's one concern I feel worth mentioning if the mod ever happened to be fully uploaded to the workshop itself, it'd be about including the young-looking characters. Particularly Ribbon (and her fairy friends), Miru and perhaps Cicini just off the top of my head. Doubly especially for Ribbon, since she pops up in basically every conversation. I feel like that's the kind of thing people might go out of their way to report. But yeah, any issues like that with steam will probably be avoided as long as it's not uploaded directly to it, so if that's actually possible that's probably the most surefire way to avoid trouble.

P.S. I'll say this just in case, but I don't mind spending all this time looking into these things, I'm doing it because I want to :D I'm a curious person and it's nice to know how things work! Might as well share my findings, right? So yeah, just figured I'd mention that in case anyone felt bad/guilty or anything :P
