Yikers lmao. When was that ever the goal? Hardcore shellshocked veterans of WWII probably don't find it amusing that we play games about their horrors.
And are we only honoring one side here? and in light of the censorship of Nazi insignias this is funny.
bit of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ take here. its extremely obvious what this statement means..... it means they dotn want to do somethign that diminishes the experiences of the war, the want to create a game that allows peopel that enjoy the history and strategy of war without it comign at the expense of soldiers. that may mean they wont use individual soldiers diaries for cheap thrills, or use somenes experience for laughs. make the game with reverance for the war.
and so what if nazi ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is censored? are you confused on who the enemy is? do you know so little of the history to believe every single soldier on the germans side was wavign a huge nazi flag around and killing jews 24/7? Do you complain when we do not name drop real slave owners family names in retellings of slave stories? this isnt a game ABOUT NAZIS its a game about ww2. there are references and implications of their actions but what does it matter if obvious glaring insgnias are present? those games are more accurate, yes, but they also give modern day ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nazis a playground to use to live out their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fantasies of being a nazi. why give them the pleasure? It also means some countries may not allow the game at all, better for everyone to get to play the game than for less people to get the same game but with a swaztika, no?
and honoring the soldiers of a war without specifically honorign nazis is not some new idea. its quite easy. There is objective proof that not every german soldier was a Nazi, just like every american wasnt a glaring racist that wanted to segregate balck troops or keep them in the kitchens and service rolls without promotions.
It doesn't say that it's the goal. It just does.
The aim is to make it realistic, so everyone can find out about the hell that this war was, more so than in most games.
