If you were to only pick 1 DLC which would it be.
Id like to get back into the game after having not played for quite some time. I stopped playing before any of the DLC dropped so Im curious which is the best one to pick up if I only could pick one.

I tend to mostly play Conquest with maybe a little of the campaign. I would like to get into multiplayer but If Im being honest I think I would just get my butt kicked in 1v1 and be a burden to my teammates in other mods.

Start with Ostfront

If you like single player missions look at getting the Airborne DLC but it contains next to nothing for Conquest.

If you want extra Conquest options you could get either Talvisota (adds Finland) or Liberation (adds USA).

Historically Finland captured and reused a great deal of Soviet equipment so many of the units in Talvisota are re-skinned Soviet units.

Finland has Heavy engineers and they are a great deal of fun to use on defence missions :steamhappy: especially early in the campaign.

Personally for Conquest I find the US units to be a bit too powerful - I find the US campaign less entertaining to play because it's a bit too "easy".

OP already owns Ostfront. There is that little mouse icon next to their name.

Hover over the little mouse icon and you'll see
"has Call To Arms -Gates of Hell : Ostfront".

Finland sucks in terms of armor imo, I'm not good with them.
Scorched Earth is good if you like the main campaign missions and want more missions in the USSR and German Ostfront campaigns. It also adds some really great special units for conquest and multiplayer doctrines and more maps. It's also the cheapest DLC so it's well worth it at 50% off.

Then if you want extra factions to play, Americans or Finns, and new campaigns on the West or Finnish front get Liberation or Talvisota. These DLCs also bring new units for the Germans and USSR in conquest too so they are worth it to fill out the tech trees for the base game nations. They have new doctrines and units for multiplayer as well. They also come with lots of very nice maps in Finland, France, Germany. Talvisota also comes with 4 skirmish missions each for the Finns, Russians and Germans.

Airborne is just a campaign with the US Airborne forces. I thought it was a fun campaign with some good missions but it doesn't add much else besides that. The Americans can use the 101st and 82nd Airborne infantry units in conquest plus a couple of extra Shermans, the Germans get the AA quad flakvierling gun and a truck mounted version of the same AA gun added to conquest and the 10.5cm artillery gun and that's it.

Thanks for this. Can I join multiplayer games if I dont own the DLC the host is playing with.
I just paid $42 for Liberation last week , today it is priced at $20

but the game is so beautiful it's worth it :lovebs:

Yes I believe you can. You can play as the Soviets or Germans on the American maps in France if the host has the Liberation DLC and you don't I think.
Liberation has the highest quality and amount of content.

Depends on the game mode.
'Multiplayer' encompasses every game mode.

For example - Co-op missions no. You need to own the mission the host is playing. So if the host is playing a mission from Liberation and you don't own Liberation you can't join their game.

If the host creates a PvP match on a Liberation map you can join the game but you can't play as the USA as you don't own the Liberation DLC. You can only play nations you have purchased.
In this case, Call to Arms - Complete is the best choice.
Since you will want it anyway.:honor:
You'll get a big bundle discount, so the difference between this and “WW2” is negligible.
