How active is the multiplayer community?

If you want to play multiplayer I VERY HIGHLY recommend you to find some sort of community. Playing with randoms is a genuinely horrible experience

Well I play COH3 so I'm used to it. Is there matchmaking or is it a server browser?

What I meant, specifically, is that people can't be assed to put a password on their game and will kick you because it's meant to be private. Or are generally toxic, unpleasant or abusive. Don't be discouraged to play PvP, but it's much better done in some sort of community like most reasonable people do

The majority of the people, like 80% of people, in this game plays Coop/Singleplayer, mostly within self contain groups as well.

If you want to play with other people or PVP, you gotta to join either a community or some discord. There's no matchmaking. Joining random lobbies is a miss most of the time as unless the lobby name says that you are free to join, you will most likely get kicked out.

You dont need to join a community or discord lol :D There are plenty of pvp action to take part in. Be it Battle zone, Domination, Frontline or co-op.

Atleast in Europe time zone. Dont know about other time zones tho.

But do us a favor and learn the basic, before you venture into pvp.
It can be a rough experience to take part without basic know how.

What about the DLC, is any of it necessary for pvp? All of it combined is double the price of the game.

you dont need any dlc for pvp. You can even join DLC maps and matchups, but you cant choose or host them yourself.

The community is there but it's the same people over and over - some are great personalities, others not so much.
