I will take the rural maps anyday not to mention that they are usually prettier and better suited for larger battles

And even more maps with this mod.

Just don't get too attached to your campaigns now because everything will have to update in the next few weeks probably for the new update and DLC
Not sure I want bigger maps. A bigger map means more units or just empty unused space. So there's no point to the vastness apart from ambience or immersion. More units means lower FPS when the pew pew starts and in Conquest I tend to DC more often than the other modes. So FPS is important.
The AI spawns lots of infantry but doesn't use vehicles to transport them. Having infantry wander across a very large map on foot would take too much time. The VP counter would need to scale with map size for this to work.
Not sure I want more urban maps. I agree vehicles would be frustrating to say the lease. Having to babysit each vehicle to make sure it doesn't turn the wrong way with infantry just around the corner would require constant effort or the engine is off and if the infantry charge you're dead in the water.
I'm undecided on terrain like forests and hills. This really depends on the map. Too many bottlenecks isn't a whole heap of fun. Too open isn't a lot of fun either. The player with the "best" long range weapons wins.
