Automatic infantry dismount
For me the infantry dismounts out of halftracks and trucks as soon someone shoots a single round at them. Is this a feature? Can it be disabled if so? Totaly ruins my blitz's

Yes.

Can it bea disabled?
Yes.
Just delete the {able "emit_passengers_on_enemy"} from the .def file.

(It tells the game to emit the passenger (but not the crew) from a vessel if its under fire. Makes sense for unarmored vehicles, but certainly not for an apc)

Thank you so much, Do you know if it possible to stop tanks and vehicles from forming groups like infantry? I sometimes select a tank, give it directions and then a apc comes from no where and joins it.

Sure.

Just go to
\Call to Arms - Gates of Hell\resource\entity
open the entity.pak with 7zip
Go further to
\-vehicle

and then to whatever you are looking for.
E.g the german halftrack is the 250a1, so go to
\-vehicle\germany\btr\sdkfz250a_1\sdkfz250a_1.def

Consider moving it to a mod folder, otherwise the next update will overwrite it.

Negative on the thing with the grouped tanks though. I just know that its better not to move vehicles in groups, always ends up as a mess.

I'm curious, if you were to give your troops the "Don't Fire at Will" order before placing them into a vehicle would they still dismount the vehicle when it comes under fire?

Il test it next time i play. Would be cool if the devs add a button for it on the vehicle. I love micromanaging so i hate most things that are automatic

So removing that line of "code" does not make a change. I made a mod and even edited one vehicle file for testing, I cant make it work. Pretty sure its some other file that needs editing.

If you all are still on this thread or can find this message. Im curious about the abandoned vehicles on the map. I mean some are useful others i canot destroy. Is there a decay file or some type of timer that can help get rid of all the tanks on the battlefield? Would appreciate the help
