One of the destructive features of WP is it's ability to burn through the engine compartments sealed rubberized vents and rubber fuel lines, thus causing an exterior engine fire and/or possibly ruin the inside of the engine as the WP is sucked into the engines air intake and mixed with the fuel inside the combustion chambers.
Once inside the engine compartment the WP would seep into the crew area of the tank causing burns to their eyes, skin and breathing passages, causing the crew to exit the tank and immediately die of lead poisoning.
I love using WP Grenades and WP Rounds. Great for taking out Gun Crews, clearing Trenches, burning out Snipers.
WP grenades also work against tanks but they must detonate right on or next to the engine deck. Even heavy tanks can be destroyed with a single WP grenade this way, tested that on an IS-2.
Almost....The WP can set other stuff on fire.
It's the other stuff that then can set your soldiers on fire if you get too close because it continues to burn.
Stay away from anything that is burning or you might get free membership to the Fantastic Four club.
When it explodes it will set things on fire but you can run into the spot afterwards as long as nothing else is on fire.
You don't run into a burning house or a burning forest do you?
