This game is a masterpiece
This game need a proper, long dynamic campaign. I have now played the two first missions on germans and they have been superb. The dynamic environment of the battlefield creates stories of its own, but the actual storyline is also written pretty well. Also the music is good. I just dream how good this game could be as a full title with a long branching campaign. Think of commanding your forces which travel with you from scenario to the next gaining experience during the course of the war. <3

Try conquest mode if you want to keep your units and make them more experienced after each battle.

Yep, only thing the conquest mode is missing is the ability to name your squads! Other than that, it's good fun.

Indeed , they should definatly expand for other fronts , afrika ? italy ? western ? all of them

I'd rather see them hold off on expansions and start working on a standalone game on a new game engine. The game is great, but it's cursed by a restrictive game engine and parent company.

There is no parent company actually. We have developed GoH independently.

I thought you had to get permission to do some of the things you wanted to implement and that's why it's taking so long. My bad.

But yeah, this engine needs to be retired.

Why you think the engine has to retire? I find the graphics pretty good.

The engine do not govern only graphic. It's the foundation of a game. If the foundation is limited, then there will be many features that can not be added because the engine do not have the capability to do so. :lunar2019piginablanket:

Fair enough. Nevertheless, for me who have just stumbled on this game I find the depth of the game overwhelming already as it is now at the moment.

Sure is. It's Blitzkrieg and Soldiers Heroes of War II(Ancestor of Men of War type games) combined and somehow far exceeds both in both of those title's strong sides.

I myself think it has resemblence to my teenage-era favourite Silent Storm.

MoWAS2 was a masterpiece. GoH is very far from it due to some incredibly bad design decisions.

It's important to note that the devs are great. If one doesn't admit it's the engine causing them to delay simple things like UI scaling and other quality of life stuff, then you're essentially saying they're dumb or lazy. A sequel to GoH is going to be amazing. There's only so much we can expect from this and I honestly believe they have our interests at heart.
