Im going to be real honest here. This is one of the biggest problems I have with the game. These types of mechanics arent explained anywhere. Instead of giving tips about how to play the game during loading screens they give us famous quotes. This game has an incredible amount of depth but its all hidden behind mechanics that are ever so different depending on what mode you play.
The extras menu is just a list of units. No way to compare and contrast the units. Also since it uses the real names you have to be either a previous player or a WW2 buff to even know what youre looking for. The whole layout could be 10 times better.
This is an absolutely great game and worth the money there are absolutely places in the UI that can be improved with the onboarding of new players.
I'm; as I type, watching my ammo crate regenerate supply by itself in conquest.
But they are not necessarily full at battle start even after 'resuppply all'. I think its a fair guess to assume, that they maintain their supply-level from the end of the last battle. After battle start they regenerate normaly.
If thats a bug or a feature I can not say. But since they are normaly full by the time I finish my preparations it doesn't bother me.
In the menu between battles, you have to resupply them, just like every other unit. I use supply trucks and crates and always have a full unit at the start of every conquest...maybe you dont have enough ammo points?
6 supply points per minute.
The maximum the ammo crate holds is 250 ammo points.
So it takes 41 minutes to fill an empty crate up provided no ammo is being used out of it.
To me the box or trailer or truck simply represents the end of a "supply chain".
One you don't need to manually fill.
Go play "Squad" and spend a whole game running a supply truck from your "main spawn" to the FOBs. You'll come back an appreciate the wonders of the magic ammo box in this game.
There's no way an ammo crate will constantly resupply an artillery piece. The cost for a single round is more than 15 ammo points per round. The box runs out and because regen is so slow the ROF of the gun is reduced to basically zero.
Germany captured so many Soviet field guns of 76.2 mm calibre that when captured ammunition stocks ran out the Germans started manufacturing the soviet 76.2mm ammo themselves. So your point here is totally misguided - if you have enough captured weapons you simply make the required ammunition yourself.
