Could my computer run this game?
In summer of last year, I first learned about this game and have been excited to play it. I even plan to buy it later this month. But I do have one very important question. Can my computer run this game?

I have a Acer Aspire 3 with a Intel Core I3-81 30U 2.2GHz drive (3.4GHz when boosted). The Laptop came with a 4GB DDR4 Ram Drive, I doubled its power to 8. The reason why I ask is because of performances I get in other games. Such as the examples below.

War Thunder-Around 40-55 FPS on lowest graphic setting during ground battles.
Space Engineers-Planets basically unplayable.
Steel Division 2-Graphics freak out unless on a very specific graphic setting, or on lowest setting possible.
IL2 Great Battles-Very good performance on Stalingrad map, some slowdown on Moscow.

If there is a recommended setting that I should have my graphics be on, please let me know.

Probably not. This game can be graphically demanding and CPU intensive. More so than Steel Division 2 since the models are low poly on that game.

Dont think so. sadly this is a pretty demanding game for its graphics

Yep as the others say: probably not. The lack of a dedicated graphics card does not help.

I have a laptop with much better specs but even on that thing it GoH ran suprisingly bad, however idk maybe I messed up some settings, but It was using the gpu, which is a mobile 2060. On that same laptop tho, I run WT on medium (maybe some high, I forgot) at well over a hundred fps, if you want that for comparison.

I'd have to test with my laptop without using the dedicated gpu on lowest setting to see how it runs. But tbh, it'd not be worth it. It would probably be better to then get MoWas2 in the meantime, which require less performance.

If i'm no mistaken one dev said the game doesn't work without dedicated gpu. Or something like that.

ive had slowdown on some maps running a ryzen 5 and a gtx 1070 someone with a i7 and a rtx 3090 was also having slowdown on the same maps so unless you have similar multi cor cpu and a gpu with a hihg ram count you will have difficulty running it

Unless the game has a memory leak like Escape from Tarkov, then 16 GB of RAM should be enough. I know other games benefit from 32 GB.

Despite what people are telling you. You SHOULD be able to run this game.

The problem is each engine and game are programmed differently, thus they require more resources from different components l.

For example Steel Division 2 utilises a lot of CPU usage and not so much GPU usage. So you can have a much worse graphics card combined with a strong CPU you can run the game perfectly fine on Medium/high settings. I have run SD2 on a Mac (using boot camp) with an inter-grated GPU and it has gotten around 30fps on medium/low.

It’s only once you reach “insane” settings that you will notice it slow down significantly due to a lacking GPU.

RAM is not needed for games of this calibre. RAM is more important for games such as EFT (which has a memory leak). 8GB RAM is more than enough for almost any game.

This engine, is better optimised than previous engines. Therefore you require less PC power to run the game than MOW. I have tried running this with intergrated graphics and it is do-able on low, with minimum visibility. You can achieve around 24-30 fps on low settings, on small maps and if you do not zoom in. Especially with explosions

It don’t think so, I’ve used it with a non-dedicated GPU and it’s run before. I think your computer just needs to recognise the primary GPU

Another tip would be to optimise your drivers and make sure everything is up to date.

Hey,

I know I am very late in this discussion. But I wanted to say some stuff.
There is a very high chance the game will run. However, don't expect to run high graphics. Back a year ago or something, I played on an i3 with an integrated graphics, and the game ran around 30 FPS on minimum graphics + low textures. However, if you usually play these strategy games around 15 FPS like me, you can try boosting it to low-medium.

Nowadays, I have a decent laptop which is an i5 16GB RAM and Intel Core HD Graphics 520 with a ventilation platform. And I run my Skirmish AI games around 15-20 FPS in high preset at a comfortable 65 average degrees celsius during gameplay.
