The little 50cm mortars are awsome as their rate of fire can make a big difference. Attacking or defending you must deal with less.
Fins are fun, and then I die.
Heavy Engineers - can build naval gun emplacements and pillboxes. Mixed bag in PvP. These sort of defences can'tr be moved and once seen are easily destroyed by artillery or rocket artillery.
As well as lots of molotov cocktails Finnish soldiers also get incendiary grenades.
Finland is fun for Conquest.
The heavy engineer emplacements are excellent on defence and the "engineer squad" is very good value.
The engineer squad has
2 x engineers for building trenches, sandbags etc and both have sticks of TNT.
2 x AT miners
2 x AP miners
2 or 3 other soldiers with a bit of stuff.
In this one squad you basically have everything you want to build your defences.
The 40mm Bofors (ltK/38b) is an excellent weapon overall and Finland gets it mounted in a vehicle (Landsverl L-62) that has decent mobility and some armour. It isn't a "tank" but it performs very well for the unit it is.
The BT-42 has plenty of bang for your buck as well. No armour and a rather slow ROF but when it goes pew pew the boom and bang is BIG. Great for hit and run because it moves pretty fast.
Those are the stand outs for me.
The rest of their "vehicle" units are either German supplied or captured from the Soviets so you can already play those units in the base game.
uuh the 84mm infantry support gun is really good and has stupid long range
heavy engineers
marksmen are op
elite snipers i guess
The 50mm mortar has a fantastic rate of fire but only shoots out to 100m so just about any soldier can shoot back. At 100m you'd better have some screening infantry of the enemy is going to be on top of the mortar in no time at all and then you'll see it in action from the wrong end of the tube.
Standard grenades, impact grenades, Willy Pete that both acts as a smoke nade and can also be used as a weapon, and all matter of Anti-tank tools in large quantities so you can blow up tanks all day long.
If only more infantry squads were as well equipped as the Fins...
