Should I pick up CtA modern and WW2 or just WW2?
The sale is enticing as I missed out on both of the Call to Arms main games. I was a huge World in Conflict and CoH 1 & 2 fan from back in the day and getting big vibes from both games for the Modern and WW2 versions. Is the CtA Modern worth it for at least the single player?

Depends if you want a modern setting or not.

The weapons in CtA are modern and all are capable of full auto fire so "infantry play" is a little bit shorter.

The missions are fun but are all imaginary. No "historical accuracy" there.

It does include helicopters. It can be really fun to play around dropping troops in the rear areas of the enemy - once you work out how to actually fly them.

I rarely bother to play all the missions in a game so can't comment on how many "gameplay hours" you'd get by playing the missions.

I believe my Steam stats are public so you can see how many hours I' got for my money.

modern cta has that warfighter total conversion mod but i never used it, i am fixated on liberation dlc content now.

cta campaigns were okay, and there are a lot of missions. but you need to use brain, you can not send human wave to fix problem as the enemy always has more.

I enjoyed CtA for what it is, the modern warfare settings are nice and have a good single player campaign plus the full version offers more content. On sale is a grab.
But GoH is where the meat is for the simple fact that it has had a longer development time and it shows.
You can always pick up CtA on a second sale.
Both!

CtA is very fun if you play it with the Warfighter mod. It makes the SP campaign a lot more fun as well.

Goh is very good and just keeps getting better and better. There are Modern War mods forr Goh but then obviously you don't get the story line centred campaigns as you would in CtA.

I have both and both weirdly enough plays very different to one another. Fun to be had all around

Which version of CTA do I need for Warfighter/Vietnam mods etc etc? Do I need Season Pass or just $3 version good enough:riddler:
I think War fighter works with all of them, you just don't have access to all the SP Campaigns. I've seen a lot of complaints over the years about not getting all the "content" which isn't a problem when you buy the Ultimate edition. Regular CtA is currently on a 75% discount on Steam, so now would be a good chance to get it. This is the cheapest it gets.

TY. Ah so warfighter just adds to all the campaigns. You think the other campaigns are needed or worthwhile? Probably better to just get CTA and Ostfront bundle for $11?
No no no... Warfighter is a complete overhaul MOD for CtA, It just adds a lot of stuff to make the game more polished up, it's just the best way to play regular CtA in my opinion.

That's up to you, depending on if you like playing Campaigns(Which are story driven) or if you wanna play MP or the SP dynamic Campaign(Not story driven).

So really, it all depends on what you want out of the game
