They also don't seem to follow a research system like the ones for players. From one mission to another there's big jumps in tech that feel unfair.
I don't recall the enemy running out of ammo, whereas it's rather easy to run out of ammo on the first conquest battle unless you bring a couple of ammo boxes, there's just THAT many targets to remove.
then dont charge a PTRD with the tank set it up at range let the officer spot for it then slowly work your squads up to the position your attacking by crawling or cover to cover bounding
because depending on the tank (as far as im aware every tank can outrange infantry AT) you should have the range to use it as a rolling MG bunker early conquest and just use the main gun to snipe out the AT soldier while you provide cover for your infantry to advance and get in grenade range
if you want to play on hardcore you need to understand your going to be getting hammered and taking loses regularly because of this
the only way early game your gonna make progress in conquest is with combined arms and mortars/MGs in support pushes
The issue is the sheer quantity of units you face.
Take it slow, scout ahead, engage soft targets with your tanks from the range limit.
I've been taking 40-60 minutes on offensive missions.
