I doubt most players pay any attention to the names of the soldiers they command.

You can perform a goolge search to see where a name originates from.

The speech of the German general at the end of the new campaign, after you surrender, is also almost identical to the one in Band of Brothers.

Soldiers also have voicelines that reference war movies.

Apparently the sniper sometimes says a prayer but I haven't heard that one myself.

"It's a whole 'nother company"

Probably a couple more in there if you pay attentions

I most definitely get attached to my troops, hell even my tank crewman are kept an eye on. Gotta maintain those vets the best you can. They can make a battle go from South to North real quick.

There's a bunch of references to different films, including a secret objective with a stranded Sherman/calliope, direct reference to "Kelly's heroes"
