When I play....Then I usually start a multiplayer match with 50000 Manpower,
because then the game is a little bit like the "World in Conflict" game
and awesome fun for me
However, if one selects that mp players can only join with great computers in the setup settings...then nobody shows up for multiplayer.
If one leaves the default setting for weak computer joiners,
then most people drop out of my matches with their 386sx.
So, I blame this games engine and the matchmaking.
I just wanna play randoms with lots of stuff going on...True WW2 feeling.
This game's engine and match-making sucks, sadly.
If this game had 10000 manpower/500DP 5v5 as default auto-match, with a server hosting infrastructure ( lower player pings ), player units doing more automatically, and an updated game engine ( for 386sx joiners )...then I would come back to this.
Otherwise, I'm off to Men of War 2 ( tested it 200 hours )
and Broken Arrow I`m afraid.
My opinions, other people may have other opinions.
Wishing everybody a nice and great new year :)
Men of War 2 has fully automatic 5v5 random matchmaking, with low player pings.
The game engine + dedicated servers, also prevent any kind of lag or stutter for other "receiving" players.
If a player has a technical problem, then that player drops out without affecting other players in any way.
In play reality that nearly never happens with that game.
With other games multiplayer technology, it is similarly great, citing Crossout & World of Warships as examples.
This Ostfront game on the other hand ( with its laggy P2P network structure and overloaded game engine ) is like true problematic 90s-style multiplayer, sadly.
Otherwise, this could be a great game package.
IMHO the game engine and the laggy network technology are the two areas where this game has huge deficiencies.
I would like to have good auto-random matchmaking, like in other great games.
